Non-Drowsy…but does that really matter when you are so congested that your eyes seem to be closing on their own?
For the last 2 years, when I get a cold I get pissed…at myself, at cold germs, at my body's weak-ass white blood cells that are vacationing at the moment.
I take every precaution. If you're sick and you touch my mouse I bust out the Clorox Disinfectant wipes. That also goes for armrests, doorknobs and faucets. Would you like a straw or silverware? Let me get that for you. Need a snack or drink from the fridge? I'LL get it. I have plenty of love to console the sick person's needs but that doesn't mean I have to breathe.
For the most part any medication I take for a cold can't even touch my symptoms within the first 3 days. This was about like that but a little better.
Day 2-4 of my cold was at such a severe point that when I swallowed I felt air coming out of my ears. All holes in my head were trying to release any pressure they could. I needed some relief quick. It didn't come as quick as I wanted it to but I found Advil Cold & Sinus Tablets to be a definite helper.
I prefer the Advil Cold & Sinus Liqui-Gels, but buying cold medicine was not as easy as I needed it to be on a day I was groggy and sick and not wanting to be at the store anyway. As you may have heard or noticed, all cold medications containing pseudoephedrine are to be sold behind the counter only. This means you must remember the brand (weird how Tylenol and Advil seem to be pretty much the same when you are trying to spout out a product name to a pharmacist) and type of medicine you want so you can relay that to the pharmacist. Hope your driver's license is handy and screw you if you wanted to buy a few groceries over here, sick one. Let's make sure you make the smallest little bastard charges in two different spots of the same location at around the same time so on the bill you look like a little punk with access to a parent's credit card…So, I ended up with what I got and that's what I was going to take.
The package directions suggest that you take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, not exceeding 6 tablets in 24 hours. I took one and sat around congested for another couple hours, but then suddenly when the moment's time came, I could breathe again! It was crazy. Of course, when it wore off it sucked again but what a wonderful relief I felt for that couple hours it lasted.
I would recommend Advil Cold & Sinus to anyone who is dealing with severe cold symptoms or sinus problems. Its effects aren't instant but they will be appreciated.
